1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MealSafely, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

MealSafely is an AI-powered meal planning assistant that helps households find safe meal ideas based on dietary restrictions, allergies, and food preferences. The service includes:

• AI-generated meal ideas tailored to food profiles
• Barcode scanning to check product ingredient safety
• Weekly menu planning and shopping list generation
• Shareable food safety profiles (Family plan)

4. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating food profiles.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

5. Subscription and Billing

• Free plan features are available indefinitely with no payment required.
• Paid subscriptions (Plus and Family) are billed monthly or annually as selected.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel at any time from Settings. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
• Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the MealSafely API or AI systems.
• Use the service for any commercial resale purpose without written permission.
• Attempt to bypass usage quotas or subscription limits.
• Upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content.

7. Intellectual Property

MealSafely and its content, features, and functionality are owned by MealSafely and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of the service without written permission. Meal ideas generated for you are yours to use personally.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealSafely shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any adverse health outcomes resulting from meal ideas or ingredient safety assessments. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance.
